Somehow, we should note that even the initial construction was in 1722, the actual architecture is of a much later period. The initial construction of 1722 was at several occasions destroyed by cyclones (two times) and re-constructed and was much smaller. It was promoted to Cathedral in Dec 1847 and consecrated in Aug 1933.
