Found in Mahebourg, the Chateau de Robillard or Gheude Castle was the dwelling of the Robillard family since the colonies and has been later taken over by the Government and now converted into the Naval Museum of Mahebourg. Whilst writing about private family matters isn’t much our ‘theme’, this image shared by Marie-Helene Letellier Oliver somehow caught our attention in a specific part. Subject of a social and family gathering at the Chateau de Robillard, it is quite amazing to compare how the dress-code and lifestyle of people in those days were far better-looking and classy as compared to current trends (personal opinion may be?) Were the retro days better? Some may agree. But one thing for sure, the vintage days and style is coming back again. If we talk about Vintage Cars, that’s a subject that will fascinate many, but for sure, these old cars for example, are now subject to a different praise and envy, not to mention their current value!
