Baie du Cap Police Station – Reviving the Dead

Bel-Ombre-Police-Station-fr

This old building dates back to 1905 where it was erected and operated as a Police Station. The sign plate on the building says that it was constructed by a certain Nakoda Ludhaboy Corjee, who was the director of Bel Ombre. The police station also has a small jail inside and isn’t that big, quite obvious for the small village where it stands. However, with time, this building had completely been recovered with concrete and made to look like any regular concrete building instead of the normal Stone style. Based on a previous image found on the net of the same building, it can be concluded that the concrete-covered building has been re-organized and the concrete layer removed to reveal the stone blocks again. An interesting piece of ‘monument’ at this part of the island.
